PORTLAND -- An Oregon mom, who got tired of stares and comments about her child's eye patch and glasses, designed a line of kids’ clothes to address the issue.
Graphic designer Jessica Butler said she wanted to help her son grow up feeling cool. So she came up with a line of T-shirts with slogans like "Yes my glasses are real" and "My glasses give me super powers" (that one comes with an optional cape).
Her campaign is catching on. Butler easily passed the $3,000 Kickstarter goal for her line earlier this month.
According to TODAY, Butler will take part in the Great Glasses Play Day in Portland on Saturday.
The event celebrates kids like her son, Scott, whom she calls the inspiration behind her line, "Eye Power Kids’ Wear."
