LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Louisville Metro Police have arrested a man suspected of stealing a juvenile's cell phone while he was walking home from school.

Police say the unnamed victim, who was walking home from Jeffersontown High School, was approached by Jordan Hayes Thursday afternoon. Hayes allegedly told them victim he had to use his cell phone, or else he would kill him. The victim let Hayes use his phone, but Hayes then ran into a get-away car.

Police were notified and found Hayes with the phone that was valued at over $800.

Hayes was arrested and booked into the Jefferson County jail.
