Golden Alert issued for Leitchfield man

LEITCHFIELD, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A Golden Alert was issued Thursday morning for a 77-year-old Grayson County man. Aubrey Denver “Woody” Wood was last seen at a funeral home on US 62 in Leitchfield just east of the by-pass at approximately 8 p.m. CT.

Wood is believed to have headed home to King Road which is located off Lilac Road(KY 733). His family was able to make contact with him via cell phone, but have been unable to locate him.  Mr. Wood stated that he had ran off the roadway into a corn field somewhere between Leitchfield and the Grayson/Breckinridge County line on Lilac Road.

Due to Wood’s health condition he is unable to provide more accurate information as to his whereabouts.  Additionally, he is without much needed medication.

It is not known exactly what Wood was wearing when he went missing.

Authorities are asking residents in the area to check their fields and property for any evidence of where a car may have gone off the road or traces of a man walking in the area.  Family members advised that Wood may still be with the vehicle as he needs a walker to get around.

Wood is a white male, 6’1” and 240 pounds with gray hair and blue eyes.  The vehicle he was allegedly driving was a silver 1997 Cadillac De Ville.

If you have any information on Wood’s whereabouts you are asked to immediately call 911.
