LOS ANGELES (AP) -- The father of Anna Nicole Smith's daughter is set to finish his testimony about the late model and reality star's involvement with prescription drugs and the role of two doctors and her former boyfriend in her medication.

Larry Birkhead, whose romance with Smith began at a Kentucky Derby party, was under cross-examination by the lawyer for Smith's psychiatrist when a preliminary hearing recessed for the weekend. He is scheduled to conclude his testimony Monday as prosecutors prepare to present medical evidence.

Birkhead has said that Smith took more drugs than he had ever seen anyone take. But he also said she suffered from a wide array of ailments. The hearing is to determine whether two doctors and Smith's former boyfriend will stand trial on charges of conspiring to illegally give her controlled substances.
