LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Anna Nicole Smith's bodyguard says one of the doctors accused of improperly giving the model medications was concerned about her drug use.
Maurice Brighthaupt resumed his testimony Thursday at a preliminary hearing in Los Angeles that will decide whether two doctors and Smith's lawyer-boyfriend can be tried for providing Smith with controlled substances.
Brighthaupt says he had several conversations with Dr. Khristine Eroshevich about Smith's drug use. He says the doctor, who has pleaded not guilty, told him she was concerned about Smith overdosing.
Brighthaupt says he saw Smith take numerous pills and medication was scattered throughout Smith's bedroom, bathroom and other areas of her home in the Bahamas.
Smith died of a drug overdose in 2007 in a Florida hotel room.
