If you have ever visited Opry Mills Hotel and Convention Center in Nashville you know that the beautiful facility is HUGE. It's so big that you have to drive and/or be shuttled from place to place.
I was there as a guest of the International Black Film Festival Nashville. I was headed to the first screening. Did I mention that the Regal Theatre where the films were held is one the property as well? The movie featured my first night was "Skin" starring sophie Okonedo, Sam Neill and Alice Kriqe.
As we started looking for a parking place I see this guy standing by the theatre. I told everyone in the SUV that looks like the guy from American Idol.
I told them if he's still standing there when I get out I was going to approach him. As I crossed the street he was still standing there. Before I could get closer I was absolutely sure who he was.
I asked "Aren't you Corey from American Idol?" He smiled and said yes. We talked for awhile and then we took a photo. I invited him to attend the festival.
Corey is currently working on a reality show which includes his wife and their baby. He's also working on his second cd.
