PARIS, Ky. (AP) -- Filmmakers working on a Disney film about Secretariat are seeking horses that look like the famous thoroughbred.
??
The film's lead wrangler, Rusty Hendrickson, is one of the judges of a Secretariat look-alike contest Saturday at the annual Bourbon County Secretariat Festival. The Lexington Herald-Leader reports that three horses will share the $5,000 prize and one could be selected for the movie.
??
Hendrickson has already chosen four horses to help out in the film.
??
Typically, several horses are used to portray one equine character because the animals can tire after several takes and some horses are better at portraying certain types of scenes. For instance, one horse may look better while running, while another interacts better with people.
??
It is scheduled to begin filming in central Kentucky next week.
