Kentucky's 3rd Congressional District - Republican
Originally from Lyon County, Kentucky, S. Brooks Wicker, Jr., has worked hard to achieve the most at every step in his life, professionally and personally. The son of a small businessman, Brooks watched his father build a small-town pharmacy from scratch. He saw first-hand how hard work and dedication could create a lasting legacy and provide for a young family, all while helping the community grow and prosper. Brooks’ first job was in the 3rd grade, where he started a newspaper delivery service. Later, Brooks worked a local cattle farm where he eventually owned and raised his own cattle.
After receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from the University of Kentucky in December of 1981 and earning his CPA certification in 1985, Brooks began building his career into what would ultimately become Wicker Strategic WealthCare Group in 1994. In addition to founding Wicker Strategic WealthCare Group, Mr. Wicker has served as controller, chief financial officer, vice president, and director in five different industries. Brooks served as founder and president of Lyon County Jaycees, and a member of the Lyndon Jaycees. He has also coached several youth sports teams through the YMCA. He is a member of the East Louisville Rotary Club.
But it’s not work alone that provide the heart contentment. Brooks’ family life has been even more rewarding than his many professional accomplishments. Mr. Wicker has been married to Lynda H. Wicker for 29 years. They have an 18 years old son, Sam, who is an avid ice hockey player for Trinity High School and who is preparing for college. Brooks and Lynda have been residents of the Third Congressional District since 1983. The Wickers are members of Christ United Methodist Church.
Whether it’s helping families protect their financial futures or helping businesses find ways to create jobs, Brooks Wicker has been tireless in his work. It’s that same effort and dedication that Brooks wants to bring to public life. It is said that the man you are at home and in your work is the man you must be to the world. In other words, consistency. For Brooks Wicker, this is certainly the case.Read More
