LEXINGTON, Ky. (WHAS11)-- Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes is set to hit two campaign stops in eastern Kentucky on Wednesday with a high profile guest.
Former President Bill Clinton will join Grimes for two stops on Wednesday, Aug. 6. The first stop is in Lexington, at the The Carrick House located at 312 N. Limestone, which is set to begin at 11 a.m.
Following the Lexington stop, both Clinton and Grimes will head to Hazard for an event at 3 p.m. at The Forum at the Hal Rogers Center.
Clinton has previous done a few campaign stops for Grimes in the state. Grimes' father was a friend of Clintons.
The campaign stops come just days after the Fancy Farm political speeches. At the picnic Grimes said it was Sen. Mitch McConnell's retirement party, and tried to show he is out of touch with Kentuckians. McConnell linked Grimes to President Barack Obama and Harry Reid.
