WALTON, Ky. (AP) -- A coin toss has failed to identify who will serve in the last remaining seat on the Walton City Council beginning next year.
Bobby McDonald and Olivia Ballou received the same amount of votes, so authorities flipped a coin on Tuesday to determine who the winner would be. After Ballou won, however, she said she does not intend to serve because she and her husband are relocating for his work.
She told The Kentucky Enquirer (http://bit.ly/UINvTg) that she won't be sworn in, so that will leave the decision of who serves up to the others who were elected to the council. They will have 30 days from the time they are sworn in to choose someone for the seat.
McDonald says he'll submit his name and hopes to be chosen.
