LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS) -- Layne Elementary School was placed on lock down Thursday afternoon after two parents were involved in a verbal argument.
JCPS officials said one parent came into the office and began arguing with another parent already in the office. The two went outside, where they continued their verbal argument.
The school did not allow the parents to re-enter the building once they had left. Officials said that is when they decided to hold students until police arrived to deal with the parents.
Students were held for about 30 minutes past their usual release time of 3:45 p.m.
