LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The principal at one of Louisville’s low performing schools will not be returning next year.
Gary Hurt, Valley High School principal, will be replaced after the state recommended new leadership at the Jefferson County Public School.
Despite big improvements at Valley, JCPS officials said more needs to be done.
WHAS11 received the following statement by Hurt from JCPS:
“While Valley High School has made some progress, it is clear that additional changes are needed to accomplish our goal of having all students graduate college and career ready. Mr. Hurt will remain as the principal through the end of the school year and will work closely with staff to ensure a successful close to the school year."
A new principal has not been named.
