LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Some changes are coming to how parents can enroll their students in a Jefferson County Public School.
Applications will now be taken in November and they'll be taken on-line. There will be registration sites for parents without access to the Internet.
Parents will only have a week to decide if they want to accept a spot at a magnet school.
On Monday night the school board voted to make The Academy at Shawnee Middle School a district wide magnet program for grades sixth through 12th. That will happen begin next school year.
