LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – JCPS teachers are back in the classroom and getting ready for the new school year.
Students go back on Wednesday and they'll be paying more for school lunches.
Elementary lunches will cost $2.50 middle and high school lunches will be $2.60.
The increase helps the district meet new federal guidelines for healthy school lunches.
And brand new this year parents can pay online instead of sending cash to school each morning.
“We encourage them to take advantage of that as it makes it much easier and smoother in the morning as opposed to handing money to everybody,” Julia Bauscher, JCPS nutrition services director, said.
