LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Three new JCPS board members were sworn in Monday night, during the first meeting of 2013.

David Jones Jr., Chuck Haddaway and Chris Brady sat on the board for the first time.

The board heard updates on the curriculum management audit, which was completed in 2011 but updated to reflect improvements in maximizing time students get in the classroom, by better responding to behavioral and social needs.

"What we're attempting to do is to pool together our resources and respond inside schools instead of kids having to come out of school for help," said Dewey Hensley, the JCPS Chief Academic Officer.

The board also did a mid-year evaluation of Superintendent Doctor Donna Hargens, behind closed doors.

The full evaluation will be made public at the end of the school year.
