(WHAS11) -- Minnesota State University Moorhead is in "damage control" mode after sending 232 acceptance letters to people who were not supposed to get them.
The acceptance letters were sent to students that did not qualify for automatic admission based on things like their GPA and standardized testing. They should have received a letter saying they had the chance to appeal their admission but instead, they got a letter saying "congratulations, you've been accepted."
The university will give students access to things like academic counseling since they did not meet admission requirements. The school says this will help these student be successful if they choose to enroll.
