LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer, along with several other Metro Council members, took a tour Monday of a public library being constructed in southwestern Jefferson County.
The $14 million dollar library is funded, in part, by a $10.5 million contribution from Metro Government.
The Library Foundation will be securing the remaining funds.
Nearly 40,000 square feet, the Southwest Regional Library will make available more than 100,000 books, touch screen computers, and different areas devoted to teenagers, children, study and group meetings.
The library will be located in the 9700 block of Dixie Highway.
