JCPS working to put cameras on buses to make rides safer

(WHAS11) – WHAS11 takes you behind the scenes as Jefferson County Public Schools works to make your child's ride to school safer.

Cameras are being installed on buses right now and they have already captured criminal activity.

The district is spending $2 million to help keep the buses as safe as possible and on Friday we got special access as the cameras were going in.

Just this week two Frost Middle School students were arrested and charged with setting fire to a seat on the school bus.

Authorities were able to pin point exactly who to charge with felony arson with the help of this.
