LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – A principal at Pleasure Ridge Park retired this week as a Jefferson County Public Schools report found he had misused school funds.

Earlier in May, Dave Johnson was under investigation for the misuse of school funds.

JCPS decided they did not want to press charges again Johnson, but he will have to pay back over $11,000.

The report was released Thursday afternoon, and it said Johnson treated himself to luxurious vacations. The report said there are four instances where Johnson made charges to credit cards at the expense of PRP.

"Principal Johnson exhibited a blatant disregard for the Board-established per diem, by treating himself to luxurious vacations and amenities at the expense of PRP," the report states.  "Adult activity fund deficits are high.  Although, Johnson claims he has worked to reduce them, he fails to address deficit spending."

According to the report there were "many examples of financial...misconcuct or wrongdoing...and...failure to perform an official duty."

Johnson will leave the district after 31 years next month.
