LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- JCPS unveiled a new multi-faceted community partnership Wednesday. Superintendent Dr. Donna Hargens introduced the "Every 1 Learns" initiative at the Louisville Central Community Center.

Every 1 Learns is meant to extend learning beyond the classroom. Part of the initiative  involves extended learning programs called Study Island and Success Maker that are available at local Learning Places and from home.

Study Island is an online program that helps students in grades three through 12 master grade-level state standards. SuccessMaker is another online program for reading and math instruction that includes games, videos and interactive text readers. It’s aimed at helping kids in grades three through 8.  Until now both programs were accessible only by students scoring significantly below grade level in math or reading, but now they are open to all students.

You can register your child for the learning programs by calling 485-7455. You can also log onto the following website: www.jcpsky.net.

Also today, Hargens announced a community partnership promoting enrichment opportunities at several locations like the Science Center and Louisville Zoo. When students visit, they can scan a QR code that will open an application that allows them to register their enrichment time at the facility.  For those without smart phones, there will also be pen and paper applications.
