LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – The JCPS School Board voted to raise the district’s drop out age to 18 in a vote held Monday evening.

Under the old rule, students who were 16-years-old could legally drop out of school if they chose.

The new age rule will take effect during the 2015-2016 school year.
