JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WHAS11) -- The Greater Clark County School board has selected Dr. Andrew Melin to be their new Superintendent.

Dr. Stephen Daeschner's contract was not renewed by the GCCS School Board. Daeschner was making $225,000.

Melin is currently employed by Valparaiso Community Schools, where an audit of the district found a lack of internal control over spending.

According to the audit, which covered July of 2009 through June 2011, the State Board of Accounts found there was no written policy for district credit cards. It also cited a $300,000 purchase and installation of a new JumboTron for the high school football field that was not approved by Melin.
