LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer and JCPS Superintendent Donna Hargens have declared a joint commitment to improve education in the city.

They made the announcement at Westport Middle School Thursday morning and signed the agreement.

The goal is to drive the success of students who will soon enter the global workforce.

CPS and Metro Government plan to collaborate on things like developing grants and expanding "learning places" throughout the city.
