LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11)--  A bill allowing computer programming to count towards a foreign language credit passed the Kentucky Senate education committee on Thursday.

Senator David Givens said the bill would ensure that students get the technology based learning they need and fulfill the foreign language criteria at the same time.

The only committee member to vote against the bill was Denise Harper Angel from Louisville.
