GUSTON, Ky. (AP) -- A Meade County woman facing a murder charge in the shooting death of her husband is a Jefferson County Public Schools employee.
JCPS spokeswoman Mandy Simpson told The Courier-Journal that 45-year-old Anne Reardon was a resource teacher in early childhood education based at Western High School. Simpson says Reardon worked at other schools "as needed."
Reardon was charged Thursday with murder after police say she shot her husband, 45-year-old Daniel Reardon, once in the head with a handgun at their home in Guston.
Daniel Reardon was taken to University of Louisville Hospital where he was pronounced dead on Thursday. State police continue to investigate the shooting.
Simpson says Reardon was not employed during the summer by JCPS and an official will determine whether she will be eligible to return.
