LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Some Eastern High School students are helping families in need this Christmas and Thursday morning they prepared for their annual holiday Care-A-Van packages - a tradition at the school for the past 40 years.
The students held fundraisers - raising more than $16,000 to buy supplies to pack baskets full of fixings, including turkeys, to take out to people in need who live in the area. It's something the students said they look forward to all year long.
WHAS11’s Brooke Katz was with students as they worked to fill each basket, click the video player above for more.
