NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- Who says you can't have a little fun while learning?
A teacher at Norfolk’s PB Young Sr. Elementary School is using his XBOX to teach math to his students. He says he was trying to think of new and creative ways to engage them.
"We used it extensively during our fraction and decimal unit. We started playing a bowling game. Students got a chance to bowl using Kinect and then had to create a fraction based on the number of pins knocked down," he said.
Students then had to convert the fractions to decimals.
He says the students love playing and it has meaning for them because they're analyzing numbers they've created.
