LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – A current University of Louisville football player is expected to face a judge Monday on charges for marijuana possession.

James Quick, a former star at Trinity and current receiver at UofL, was cited in May after complaints of marijuana odors coming from his apartment.

Police say they discovered 39.5 grams of marijuana in Quick’s possession along with a digital scale and a marijuana grinder.

Jason Hatcher, a defensive end for the University of Kentucky, was in the room with Quick and also cited but had his charges dropped on June 16.

Both possessions of marijuana and drug paraphernalia are considered misdemeanors in Kentucky.
