(WHAS11) -- Metro councilman and UofL Police Officer, David James, is now commenting on Thursday's Metro Council Meeting.
On Wednesday, Feb. 27, it was reported James was told he wasn't allowed to hold both positions at the same time and had to choose between serving as councilman or police officer.
It was found that James' positions as an elected council member and a campus security officer are incompatible under the constitution and laws of the Commonwealth.
James' attorney sent the following statement regarding the issue:
“Should the council proceed with a meeting without recording his vote, that meeting will be illegal and any business conducted at the meeting will be null and void.”
