LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Two Southern Indiana men were arrested Tuesday afternoon after police said they led them on a chase along I-65.
According to a new release, an Indiana State trooper working I-65 north attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation when the driver took off.
The driver, 30-year-old Robert K. Javis of Salem, continued heading north on the interstate until he reached Sellersburg. Police said that's when Javis took exit 9, came to an abrupt stop and a passenger jumped out of the vehicle.
The passenger, identified as 35-year-old Michael T. Chastain of Salem, fled on foot, police said. Chastain, who was wanted on warrants out of Washington County, was later found hiding behind a home in Sellersburg.
Chastain is charged with fleeing law enforcement, in addition to the outstanding charges of domestic battery, invasion of privacy, criminal mischief and resisting law enforcement.
Jarvis is charged with resisting law enforcement while using a vehicle.
Both were taken to the Clark County Jail.
