LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Instead of building cars and trucks, Ford workers and UAW 862 members are using their construction skills for the greater good.

Employees and union members are building wheelchair ramps at homes across Jefferson County to help make life a little bit easier for residents with disabilities.

The volunteers work with the Center for Accessible Living and the Metro United Way.

Tuesday, the groups celebrated their 100th ramp installation with a luncheon at the union hall.
