NEW YORK -- An assistant manager at the World Trade Center visitor center has been charged with stealing more than $40,000 from it.
The alleged thefts occurred between August and February. Authorities say security cameras were installed after an audit showed cash register receipts coming up short.
Twenty-five-year-old Emmanuel Reyes was scheduled to appear in court Friday. His attorney did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
The Tribute WTC Visitor Center gets some of its funds by selling memorabilia.
