(WHAS11) - A woman was raped inside her own home and the rapist was never caught.
Now police have a new sketch of the suspect and new hope for leads.
Police say a man forced his way into a woman's apartment in the Whispering Hills apartment complex and attacked her.
She has since moved away, but police are afraid if they don't soon identify the man responsible for the attack he may strike again.
Between a chain link fence and a young woman's apartment was where police say the suspect was lurking in the early morning shadows.
At around 3:00 a.m. on the morning of January 17th, the occupant opened her back sliding glass door to let her dog out.
She didn't see anybody out there initially, but then a person approached her and forced his way back into her apartment.
That's where the woman told police the suspect threatened to kill her.
He then allegedly took her cell phone and fled out the front door.
Police say they began the investigation immediately, but don't have any leads.
The suspect is described as a bald, white man with brown eyes.
He's believed to be in his 30's, stands about 5’7” and has a heavy build.
The victim said he was wearing blue jeans and a white t-shirt with the letters “SA” on the left hand side.
Most people WHAS11 News spoke to in the complex said they were not familiar with the attack and didn't recognize the suspect.
The apartment manager is urging residents to keep their back lights on and sliding glass doors locked and to provide any information they can.
The complex is located just off Old Shepherdsville Road near Fern Creek Road.
If you recognize the man in the composite please contact police at 574-LMPD.
