LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A woman is wanted by police after stealing a Crusade for Children donation jar from Next Door Liquors on Newburg Road Sunday evening.

She was caught on surveillance video taking the jar after the cashier turned his back.

"All he did was turn for a second and you can see he then looks and realizes what just happened," owner Steve Abrams said.

Abrams estimated there was roughly $100 in the jar. He had just donated last year's donations by his customers to the Crusade a few weeks ago.

"I know my $500 isn't a ton, but every little bit helps, and I'm proud to be able to help," Abrams said.

Abrams also said most of his customers donate frequently.

"They're stealing from everybody who comes in here because most people drop something in there," customer Jerry Lomax said.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 574-LMPD.
