LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A Louisville woman was arrested and is facing several charges after being pulled over by police.

According to a police report, officers received a call from JCPenny’s that the subject was exiting the mall with a large amount of merchandise that was not bagged.

Kim Starks, 29, was spotted by the officer leaving the Jefferson Mall speeding in a 35 mph zone.

The officer reported that upon stopping Starks they smelled a strong odor of marijuana from the vehicle. While searching the vehicle two baggies of marijuana were found under the hood of the car along with other small bags. According to a police report, $627 in cash was also found along with a large amount of merchandise, totaling $2,753.96.

Police say Starks admitted to going around the mall stealing merchandise. The officer also gained consent to search Starks cell phone and located several conversations where individuals are asking Starks to get them certain types of clothes and certain brands of merchandise.
