Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) -Two people were arrested near Lynnhurst Avenue after police found syringes and spoons allegedly laced with heroin during a welfare check on an elderly woman.
Jessica Roth, 26, and Joshua Edwards, 30, were arrested for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia on June 12.
Police said they were conducting a routine welfare check on an elderly woman. They said the home address was often used by heroin addicts as a place to reside and use drugs.
Officers said they were given permission to enter the house, which is where they came in contact with Roth and Edwards. Edwards allegedly gave consent for police to search the room. When they did, police said they found used syringes, spoons with residue and a tourniquet in a container on a bookshelf.
Roth and Edwards allegedly admitted the spoons and syringes would test positive for heroin. The two were arrested.
