LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- On Sunday, May 4, two people were arrested after police said large amounts of cash, drugs and a handguns were found in their possession.
In the 3300 block of Bardstown Road, within 1,000 feet of the Boys Haven school, a detective observed 40-year-old Michael Jackson in the parking lot of Thorntons talking to a woman, who was identified as 19-year-old Stephanie Petroski-Reid, in a parked checkered cab, according to a police report. Police said Jackson was seen making a drug transaction with Petroski-Reid.
After the cab pulled away from Thorntons the detective stopped Jackson and questioned him, the police report said. According to the police report Jackson gave police consent to search his vehicle and told them he had a gun under the seat of his rental car. Police said they found a large amount of cash, a handgun, Gucci bag and two shopping bags. Baggies of marijuana were also found in Jackson’s car trunk and at his residence.
Police said Petroski-Reid had meth and a loaded revolver in her purse. According to the police report Petroski-Reid’s gun was painted which made the caliber and serial number impossible to read.
Jackson is charged with trafficking a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school and trafficking in marijuana. Petroski-Reid is charged with trafficking in a controlled substance in the first degree, carrying a concealed deadly weapon and possession of a defaced weapon.
