(WHAS11) -- Two people have been arrested for allegedly possessing a meth lab in a local hotel room.

According to court records, detectives conducting a narcotics investigation at the Economy Inn in the 3300 block of Bardstown Road noticed a strong chemical smell and smoke coming from one of the rooms.

When police went into the room, they were advised that there was a bottle that "might blow up." At that point, police arrested Tiffany Jenkins and David Wiegand, who were both inside that room at the time, for manufacturing meth.

Fire and EMS crews came into the room and found numerous items, including an active meth lab.
