LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- One suspect was shot and two others are on the loose following an attempted home invasion Friday morning.

Police said three men in their twenties kicked in a door to a home in the 7600 block of Colson Drive, just off Six Mile Lane, around 10:00 a.m.  A 20-year-old man and his mother were inside the home at the time.  The 20-year-old was able to locate a gun in the home and shot at the suspects multiple times, hitting one suspect at least twice, police said Friday afternoon.

Police said the injured suspect managed to get to a nearby Marathon gas station where he told a passerby he had been robbed.

Once police arrived, they were given information about that home invasion and were able to take the suspect to a hospital for medical treatment.  His injuries are not life-threatening, police said.

The circumstances of the home invasion are still under investigation. Police said they do not know if there is a connection between the suspects and victims.

Two other suspects, identified only as black males in their twenties, are still sought by police.

If you have any information, you're asked to call police at 574-LMPD.
