LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Louisville Metro Police say a man who had a no contact order with Beecher Terrace was arrested after a scuffle with an officer.
Officers stopped 24-year-old Donte Williams after they observed him loitering with others in a high narcotics area of the housing project.
When officers approached Williams, he took an aggressive stance before fleeing the scene leading officers on a foot pursuit near the Beecher Terrace Community Center, police reports indicate.
Police say when Williams was finally cornered, he pulled out a gun and attempted to fire shots at the officer before the gun was wrestled away.
Williams is facing serious charges including attempted murder, burglary in the first degree, fleeing and evading police, carrying a concealed weapon, resisting arrest and violation of a court order.
