LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A Shelby County High School student was arrested after police said he pulled a knife and pointed the blade at a classmate's throat Monday morning.
Police said three high school students subdued the 14-year-old shortly after he pulled out that knife, which was believed to be a 3 or 4 inch hunting knife. Shelby County Superintendent James Niehoff called the students who subdued the suspect "heroes" when approached by WHAS11 News Monday afternoon.
The student is facing four felony charges and one misdemeanor. A police report indicates that knife was held to a victim's throat.
No one was seriously injured in the incident, but the suspect did suffer a minor cut to the arm.
There is no word on why the student pulled out the knife and the incident remains under investigation.
