(ABC NEWS) -- A South Carolina husband and wife were charged Monday with the murder of a missing cosmetology student, authorities said.
Sidney and Tammy Moorer also face kidnapping, indecent exposure and obstruction of justice charges in the Dec. 18 disappearance of Heather Elvis, 20.
Horry County Police Chief Saundra Rhodes discussed the murder charges at a Monday press conference, saying additional evidence at the Moorer’s home connected them to the crime.

“The evidence that we located there led to the charges of murder,” Rhodes said.
Authorities declined to identify the incriminating evidence. Elvis’s body has not been located.
Sidney Moorer and Elvis may have had a romantic relationship, according to investigators.
Her car was found abandoned at a boat landing building, police said. According to WPDE, the region's ABC affiliate, investigators believe Elvis was murdered there, and then taken to another location.
Police have not released a motive in the case, and the investigation is ongoing.
