LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A Louisville man may be heading for prison after police said an officer witnessed his attempt to rob a local convenience store.
According to a police report, Brice A. Carpenter, 20, was arrested early Monday immediately following a robbery at the Circle K on Bardstown Road.
The report states a masked Carpenter forced a clerk inside the store armed with a toy gun. Once inside, the clerk gave him money from the register.
Police said Carpenter then left and went to a nearby parking lot where his car was parked - that's when an officer parked in the same lot stopped him. Police said Carpenter signed surveillance picture of himself and gave a confession.
