LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Prosecutors believe a deadly shooting at a Louisville kickball game could have been gang related.

Antonio Anderson was killed during the shooting at Shawnee Park in Aug. 2011. William Smith, Quentin Wilson and Tyrone Mack are charged in the murder.

All three were in court on Tuesday, May 21, where prosecutors asked a judge to allow a gang expert to testify in the upcoming trial.

“Explain the presence of gangs in Louisville, what it means to be affiliated or associated with a gang. Whether it’s common for there to be retribution through violence when gangs are involved,” Erin White, Prosecutor, said.

The judge did not make a ruling on the gang expert on Tuesday, but that decision is expected in July.

All three defendants are set to face trial in September.
