LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Three Louisville Metro Police officers have been placed on paid administrative leave after a fatal officer-involved shooting in Shively at the intersection of Melody Acres and Cane Run Road.

LMPD officials have identified the officers as Michael McLaurine, Brad Schumann and Justin Haydock. Information about the officer’s histories and years with the department was not immediately available at press time.

Police were called to the scene to investigate shots fired. Officers say they didn’t find anything and left the scene. 30 minutes later, they say they located the 25-year-old Tracy McCraw at the scene and he fired shots toward them.

Police say they were not hit but two to three officers returned fire.

The Jefferson County Coroner says McCraw was shot 6 times.

None of the officers were injured and the length of their leave is pending the outcome of the Police Integrity Unit investigation.
