Fast-food restaurant robbery

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Louisville Metro Police are working a hold up at a McDonald's in East Louisville.

The robbery happened at on S. Hurstbourne Parkway around 3 a.m. Tuesday.

Police said masked suspects entered the restaurant and demanded money. One of the suspects fired a shot into the ceiling, police said, and an employee was pistol whipped.

Police said the employee sustained minor injuries and is expected to be OK.

The suspects did leave the scene without any money, and police believe they are the same suspects that are responsible for a string of robberies at fast food restaurants across the Metro area.
