LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Shively police were called to the scene of a deadly shooting at a strip club on 7th Street Road.

The shooting happened around 2 a.m. Thursday at the Doll House Gentlemen Club in the 3600 block of 7th Street Road. Terrance D. Smith, 37, was pronounced dead at the scene at around 2:10 a.m.

Police said they found a man shot to death outside the establishment.

"They did find an individual who had been shot multiple times. Right now they're trying to link some of the information together," Chief Mark Higdon with Shively Police said.

Witnesses said the victim was inside the club and was causing problems. Security staff escorted the man from the club.

"It was a bad night. Altercations and just a bad night that's it," a worker told WHAS11.

"He had to be taken out for club reasons," the worker said.

The shooting was captured on security cameras, police said.  Investigators interviewed witnesses at the scene and later arrested Tony E. Whitfield, Jr., 29 of Louisville.

Whitfield is charged with one count of murder.
