CUMBERLAND, Ky. (AP) -- A Cumberland woman is in trouble after police says she made a false 911 call claiming an officer was under attack.
Cumberland Police Officer Silas Whitehead told WYMT-TV (http://bit.ly/11pqCyx) that he took the call from Angie Wyatt, who reported that there were several assailants on one of the officers and they had him down.
Officers responded to the scene and Whitehead began calling roll.
It wasn't until all Cumberland police officers had been accounted for, and the whole three mile road where the attack had been reported was searched, that officers determined the call was false.
Wyatt is charged with falsely reporting an incident.
She was jailed in the Harlan County Detention Center on a $2,500 bond. The jail had no record of an attorney for Wyatt.
