LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Police need your help in solving the case of a shooting involving a Marine Corps veteran. The veteran was hit in the stomach by a bullet this week but the shooter is still on the streets.

LMPD's 4th Division detectives say two people were inside a red SUV on Monday leaving the Kingdom Nightclub around 3:30 in the morning it the 3200 block of Taylor Boulevard. A woman in her 20's was then shot in the stomach.

Police say this was "not a random act of violence." There was no fight in or outside of the club that led up to it. All they know is that she was targeted for some reason and she has no criminal history.

"All we know is that two people were sitting in a car in a parking lot. Someone approached the vehicle from the rear and shot into the vehicle," Detective Douglas Brooks, LMPD 4th Division said.

There were no security cameras in the area, so detectives have no solid leads on suspects. If you know anything about this case you are asked to call 574-LMPD.
