(LOUISVILLE, Ky.)--A Louisville man was arrested on Sunday after reportedly running over a police officer's foot.

According to a police report, John Hay, 26, was arrested at 7:15 p.m. and charged with Reckless Driving and 1st degree wanton endangerment of a police officer after the subject was observed driving his 1998 Toyota Rav4 on the sidewalk near the intersection of West Brandeis Ave. and Fourth Street.  Witnesses said Hay nearly struck pedestrians walking on the sidewalk before he sped into a police barricade, according to the report.

After an officer stopped Hay, the subject stated the police were ignoring him at the intersection, which caused him to become angry and drive onto the sidewalk, according to the report.  While the officer was questioning Hay, according to the report, he drove off and struck the officer's foot, causing injury to the arresting officer's foot, knee and leg.

The officer was able to subdue Hay and place in custody, according to the report, he was lodged in the Jefferson County jail.
